This week Instant Goddess is LOVING the latest collection from Vamastyle which was showcased at the Vamastyle pop-up shop in Sheung Wan over the weekend. The latest collection is called Tropicale and has the best lightweight print trousers Instant Goddess has come across this season. There’s also a knock-out jumpsuit which amazingly works on most body shapes, fantastic shorts in peach leopard print plus a winning palm tree print in almost everything your summer wardrobe could possibly desire!
Before we get started though, I should caveat these photos with the fact that although the designs look good on screen I can’t emphasise enough how good they look in the flesh: the cut works and the print pops!
So, we start with the hero trousers… so comfortable, so lightweight and so breezy… oh, and did I mention so flattering?!
Top: Montauk tribal pants $1007 teamed with matching Innika blue swimsuit $736; Bottom left: El Kabron kimono $930 teamed with Innika Swimsuit; Bottom right: Montauk tribal pants and Wategos cross back camisole $736
Now onto the knock-out Parker jumpsuit in a palm tree print with a super flattering cut – if you don’t believe me – try it!
Parker jumpsuit $1,318
If jumpsuits aren’t your thing then fear not – the palm tree print comes in easy breezy, fabulously comfy shorts and a camisole that will look great teamed with your favourite skinnies as well as the shorts pictured below… two looks for the price of one, that’s what we love!
Left: Beach Daze Tote $465 and Right: Wategos palm tree print camisole $736 teamed with Shek O palm tree shorts $736
Onto the next popping print… peach leopard! Again the shorts are a must – so easy to run about town in or perfect poolside.
Shek O peach leopard shorts $736 teamed with Point Yamu Bikini $736
Alas, the pop-up shop is now over but fear not, you can buy everything online and Vamastyle founder Kaitie is super helpful on sizing and returns (if need be). There’s also another pop-up shop coming soon so be sure to follow Vamastyle on Facebook to stay updated.
Shoe of the Week
The gong this week has to go to the BCBGeneration Darron Pump inspired by the Valentino Rockstud but far, far kinder on the pocket! Available in yellow, turquoise, pink, red, cream and black, you really are spoilt for choice. The saying, “if the shoe fits buy two pairs” was made for the Darron Pump, especially as they cost a mere $620. Buy them online from DSW, Designer Shoe Warehouse.
Shipping notes: To have the Darron pump shipped to Hong Kong you need to use a MyUS account which gives you your own US postal address. Your order will be shipped to this address by DSW and then forwarded on by MyUS to your HK address. It only costs $78 to set up a standard account and although your shipping to HK is charged in addition to this, believe me, at these prices the Darron will still work out to a mere drop in the ocean compared to the mighty Valentino Rockstud.
Alternatively, tap one of your State-side friends up and get them to pop your Darrons in the post for you.
Midweek Meal Inspiration
After all the indulgence of Easter, it’s all about treating that body like a temple again with healthy meals bursting with vegetables. And on this quest to get back to that temple, I’ve stumbled across the Helmsley and Helmsley Cookbook: The Art of Eating Well, which is all the rage back in the UK. Helmsley and Helmsley is a London-based food business set up by two sisters, Jasmine and Melissa Helmsley, who have a passion for “nutrient-dense cooking”. As well as a bestselling cookbook, they have even designed their own Spiralizer (you know the thing that makes your courgettes into spaghetti) and they are regular contributors to Vogue with their recipes.
Here, I give you their Spring Quinoa Risotto using protein-packed quinoa instead of your traditional rice in a risotto. It’s packed with great flavours and a good hit of your daily five.
Yogi tea saying of the week: “As long as there is doubt you cannot find the way”.
Instant Goddess saying of the week: “No more doubt, just do it.”
Until next time Goddesses and remember you are ALWAYS, ALWAYS worth it XX
