When you think about it, afternoon tea is really the ideal meal for little ones — tiny sandwiches and miniature cakes, just perfect for little fingers and little tummies! Most five star hotel afternoon teas though are the opposite of the perfect environment for toddlers and tiddlers though… Fine china, scalding-hot tea in delicate silverwear and white-glove service when combined with children do not make mamas feel relaxed!
Thankfully, The Langham is changing all that with their special Yummy Mummy Tiffin Tea, launching on Thursday 3rd May and continuing every Thursday afternoon. Each Thursday from 3-6pm The Langham will set up a dedicated play area equipped with toys, colouring supplies and best of all, specially-designed munchies for bubs. I went along to try it out a couple of weeks ago and can attest that it really was rather civilized, though trying to keep my daughter’s little mitts off the chocolate cakes meant for adults-only was a tall order! I only wish I would have been able to indulge in the even-more-fabulous offer of the Champagne Tea Set, which has to be the perfect way to catch up with friends, particularly new mommies in need of a treat!
The Yummy Mummy Tiffin Tea is priced at HK$198 per person and available every Thursday afternoon from 3-6pm.
