Do you have the next Michael Phelps in your hands? Or is your little bub not a fan of the water? Don’t worry, mamas, whatever skill level you find your child to be at (full out water-baby or not), there is a class for your kiddo at Harry Wright International.

Harry Wright International The Premier Swim School is no stranger to families and the swimming community here in Hong Kong. In the last 40 years, Harry Wright International (HWI) has trained thousands of students including 13 who have reached Olympic stardom! Many of these athletes began their road to the Olympics as a baby under the guidance of experienced teachers. If you’re looking for trained professionals who will instil a love of swimming in your child, look no further.

Let’s face it, large bodies of water can be scary for some kids and getting into the pool is the stuff of nightmares for others. It’s definitely a good thing that the coaches at HWI ensure that the whole nature of the programs are safe, happy and relaxed. The swim school has a long history of nurturing young swimmers to not only swim competitively but to enjoy the sport. The programs range from beginner’s classes to the competitive level. There are many locations all over city so you are guaranteed to find a venue that’s suits you!

The Infant Aquatic program begins at the wee young age of four months. The babies reach mermaid levels of swimming as they learn to submerge and propel themselves through the water in a comfortable environment. Not only will your little one enjoy splashing around in the water, they’ll also be growing leaps and bounds in the physiology and development department too. The babies won’t be the only ones having fun, though! Since a lot of the classes are held on the weekends, mamas (and papas!) are able to get involved and jump right into the pool to join in and bond with their bub.

The Learn to Swim program as well as the Competitive program offers children with more structure as they perfect their form and times. These classes help develop the talent of promising young swimmers and realising their potentials in the hopes of one day competing internationally. In fact, one of Hong Kong’s own, Hannah Wilson, began with Harry Wright as a baby and has gone on to become an Olympic swimmer!

Let’s face it, mama’s, swimming is a life skill and the earlier your littles learn, the more fun (and peace of mind!) you can have at the beach and swimming pools.

Check out their amazing Easter camps and courses that run from Tuesday, 29 March to Friday, 8 April. Traveling over Easter? Not to fret, you can sign up and register now for their Summer Term which starts in March and runs through June. Mark it in your calendars and get your kiddo ready for some fun in the water!
