Papyrus
Harbour City, IFC, Times Square, Festival Walk, Prince’s Building
Papyrus is another great one stop-shop (though a little pricey) for buying Christmas cards a plenty – and they’re especially good at offering cards personalised for dads, mums, siblings, grandparents and the rest of the family tree!
Hallmark
Various locations including 11/F Causeway Bay SOGO, Telford Plaza, Central MTR, APM, Windsor House (see full list here)
Hallmark’s speciality is cards, cards and more cards, meaning their range is certain to cater for all your card needs! They do some delightful Japanese pop-up Christmas cards that my friends back home can’t get enough of, whilst if you’re a fan of Forever Friends or Disney, you’ll find plenty to please! Sassy top tip: head to the store in the upper echelons of SOGO; it’s far more spacious than the other Hallmarks around town and since it’s so time-consuming to get up there, it’s generally pretty quiet!
Marks & Spencer
Various locations including Cityplaza, Harbour City, Times Square, Festival Walk, New Town Plaza (see full list here)
Marks & Sparks does a fantastic range of cards in box sets – great for buying in bulk, if you have loads to send to friends and colleagues from all over. You know you’ll get great quality and good value and they always refresh their range with new and gorgeous designs every year.
City’super & LOG-ON
Various locations including Festival Walk, Times Square, iSquare, APM (see full list here)
City’supers with a Lifestyle section, or their dedicated LOG-ON stores, offer a selective range of greetings cards, often from Japan and Korea. Many are super-stunning (if a little pricey) with hand-made aspects, whilst they also sell a range of 3D stickers and crafty accessories ideal for DIY cards.
Page One
Festival Walk, Harbour City, Times Square
Page One sell a small selection of Christmas cards with arty and unique designs, which are great if you’re looking for something a little bit different. They even have some made out of recycled wood and cotton!
Charity Christmas Cards
If you want to support a good cause with your festive missives, you’re spoilt for choice! If there are any specific charities you’re passionate about, it’s worth contacting them to see if they’re selling charity Christmas cards this year, but here are a few definites for starters: The Society for the Relief of Disabled Children, Christina Noble’s Children Foundation, Hong Kong Society for the Protection Of Children, the Community Advice Bureau and the Salvation Army Family Store.
Tailor-Made Cards
If you want to add a really personal touch, try tailor-making your card at these fab stores (see individual sites for pricing, shipping and minimum order details – but generally, the bigger your order, the cheaper each card!)
Minted.com
We absolutely adore Minted.com’s range of classy, cool and beautiful holiday cards. You can personalise cards through the text, the colour or even by adding a photo – and since these are such a Sassy favourite, we’ve managed to snag a discount code for y’all. Simply enter SASSY15 at checkout to get 15% off your Christmas card order until November 30th.
Studio M Stationery
1/F Tung Yiu Commerical Building, 31A Wyndham Street, Central, Hong Kong
Fresh, creative and classic – it’s no wonder we’re in love with this HK-based custom stationery company! The design really is all down to you, so drop by Studio M for a browse or email [email protected] or call 2525 0765 to arrange an appointment.
Tiny Prints.com
These come recommended by one of Sassy’s go-to photographers (Ifat of Hindessight Photography), so we know they must be good! Their cards are more from the colourful contemporary side of things with a small minimum order quantity (so no huge stockpile left for next year!) and they offer great photo personalisation options. Their DIY Christmas card section, where you create your own custom card totally from scratch, is also totally fantastic!
Moonpig.com
This British-based company has a cheeky sense of humour; I particularly love their spoof magazine cards, which you personalise with photos and (hopefully!) witty captions, the source of much amusement amongst my family for several special occasions! [They also do more classic cards, cute ones for kids, simple photo-based ones and discount multi-packs too.] The best bit is that they deliver the cards for you – so if you’re sending to the UK, US or Australia, rather than paying international postage and worrying about dates, you can pay local shipping charges (generally peanuts) and know your mail will get there super-quickly.
Photographers
If you want to personalise your cards with photos that are a little more pro than quick family snaps, how about arranging a session with some of these top photographers? They all come with the Sassy seal of approval!
