Shopping Sanity Tip: Online Boutique Browsing

Style & BeautyPost Category - Style & BeautyStyle & Beauty

I am one of those girls who shops when I need something rather then picking things up when I see them for future use. What this means is that my shopping style can be defined as totally crazed and frantic. I race from store to store in the hopes that they carry the exact thing I am looking for and typically I end up back at my apartment exhausted and either with nothing at all or a ridiculous purchase that will never be worn (and then never be exchanged due to pure laziness).

I know that this habit will be hard to break so I am just going to take baby steps by browsing before buying. That is browsing online from the comfort of my home (with a glass of wine in hand!).  I have never been that great at shopping online but now that there are so many physical shops with online websites, my new strategy is to do some research before hitting the streets for my last minute shopping trips.

Pretty much all the mass chains have online websites but my favourite shops to browse are the independent boutiques in Hong Kong. While the online shopping trend is just starting when it comes to small boutiques the below stores know that an online presence may help drive foot traffic in addition to online sales.

Tiare – Stocks contemporary labels from up-and-coming LA Designers as well as more well-known brands like Joie and Vince.

Gizzy and Nacho – Fashion-forward brands to help even the most worn-out mama get her trendy mojo back!

Kanchan Couture – Local designer Kanch’s pieces are colourful and chic.

Sassy Tip: The best thing is that online browsing can all be done after store hours so once the kiddies are put to bed you can plan out your shopping list and hit the streets the next day for a quick and planned out shopping spree!
