Staying in Hong Kong and still don’t know what to do with the kids over the summer? We have rounded up just a few of the fun summer programmes out there that should help alleviate the boredom for even the most active of kids.
Faust offers week-long summer theatre workshops and creative writing courses. Summer theatre explores a different drama theme, play or topic and covers improvisation, movement and script work or follows a particular theme such as storytelling, fables and fairytales or theatre through the ages. Writers learn to express their ideas and emotions and to use their inspiration to develop successful writing skills. All sessions look at different aspects of creative writing including, metaphors, similes, dialogue, poetry, character description, format, vocabulary, descriptive techniques and dramatic effects to list but a few.
For summer theatre the groups meet for 2.5 hours a day, 5 days a week (either 10.00am – 12.30pm or 2.00pm – 4.30pm). The summer theatre groups are open to children with or without drama experience with fluent English ability.
