Black Sheep
330 Shek O Road, Shek O, 2809 2021
This eccentric little Shek O resto will be a hit with the kids as they serve delicious pizza and have a little outside garden where you can eat! The little ones will also get a kick out of the seventies disco-style interior complete with mirror ball.
Rainbow Seafood Restaurant
23-25 First Street, Sok Kwu Wan, Lamma, 2982 8100
With so much choice when it comes to seafood on Lamma, it can be hard to know which restaurant to pick – Rainbow is always reliable and tasty, though if you have a baby you’ll want to bring your own highchair insert thingy as theirs are a litte deathtrap-like.
The Fish Bar
JW Marriot, Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, 2810 8366
Delicious fish and chips, a kid’s menu, highchairs and friendly staff make The Fish Bar a great option for a weekend lunch in the city. It’s outside but in the shade so you won’t overheat.
Waterside Terrace
The Island Shangri-La, Pacific Place, Supreme Court Road, 2877 3838
With a Thai theme, this poolside restaurant is great for lingering through the afternoon sipping on cocktails before taking a dip (though you’ll need to be a member of the health club, and there’s a lengthy waiting list).
The Stoep
32 Lower Cheung Sha Village, Lantau, 2980 2699
There’s no better place for eating by the beach in Hong Kong. With South African food and a laidback vibe, you’ll feel a world away from Central…
Top Deck
Top Floor, Jumbo Boat, Shum Wan Pier Drive, Aberdeen, 2552 3331
A tourist fave – book early for Sunday brunch with a whole gang. With freeflow champagne, mama can feel her cares slipping away, and there’s something for even the pickiest eaters with a mix of Asian and Western offerings.
BLT Steak
Shop G62, Ocean Terminal, Tsim Sha Tsui, 2730 3508
With a fab harbour view, and convenient location next to the kids’ shopping mecca of Ocean Terminal, this is a good choice for a quick bite for lunch that will keep Dad happy.
Dragon-i
UG/F, The Centrium, 60 Wyndham Street, Central, 3110 1222
At night it’s all models and posers, but for brunch it’s all-you-can eat dim sum on the terrace! A great selection of dishes makes this a great intro to yum cha for little tasters.
Coco Thai
5 Wai Fung Street, Ap Lei Chau, 2812 2226
Ap Lei Chau is not exactly the most picturesque place, but if you’re looking for a bite before hitting Horizon Plaza, you can’t do better than this fun Thai restaurant.
Fat Kee Seafood
7A Po Toi O Pier, Clear Water Bay, 2719 9129
It’s super no-frills at this New Territories outpost, but you can pick out your seafood fresh from the tanks to be cooked to order. Not just for junk trips – you can cab it out on a sunny afternoon and follow it up with a (short) walk through Po Toi O Village.
