Looking for something to do with the kids over CNY? Look no further! With flying kites, a lion dance, musical performances and shopping rewards, there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained!

Chinese New Year is one of our favourite times of the year, as we watch the city come alive with incredible displays, lion dances, traditional feasting and much, much more. So if you’re looking for a family-friendly outing to entertain the kids while they’re off school, we recommend Pacific Place. The lifestyle hub has set out to ensure The Year of the Pig receives a very warm welcome. Its incredible CNY decor is sure to wow all ages, as you journey through spiralling tunnels covered in flowers.

To celebrate the arrival of spring, its “Where Fortune Takes Flight” campaign will have your little ones eyes glued upwards. They’ll see over 60 vibrant kites soaring high above the ground throughout Pacific Place, to help spread blessings for the year ahead. Exclusively designed by Hong Kong artist Queenie Rosita Law (the founder of Production Q art and design studio), the kites are crafted in shapes inspired by traditional Chinese greetings – including octagons for good fortune, butterflies for positivity and good fortune, and circular candy boxes for completeness and unity. See how long it takes the kids to spot them all, and make sure they swirl the spindles to reveal hidden Chinese blessings!

Pacific Place will also see its very own Lion Dance parade through the mall on Tuesday, 12 February, spreading good luck and prosperity. Make sure you pick a good vantage point so the younger members of your party can fully experience the thrilling spectacle up close! But the Lion Dance isn’t the only family-friendly entertainment on hand. There will be numerous displays and musical performances taking place throughout the month, so there’s no chance of boredom setting in!

We almost forgot to mention the shopping rewards and special gifts of fortune being offered. From 22 January to 4 February, customers that spend between $2,500 and $7,999 will receive a set of Lai See packets, and those that spend between $8,000 and $75,000 will also be rewarded with shopping vouchers for the value of $300, $1,000 and $3,000. With plenty of top brands to choose from, we doubt you’ll need any encouraging to pick up something for yourself or the kids. And of course, if you need a sit down after all that excitement, we’re sure you’ll find something to suit even the fussiest of eaters at one of the mall’s many restaurants!
