Hong Kong Ballet’s The Nutcracker
Back for another festive season, the Hong Kong Ballet will be taking to the stage of the Grand Theatre for a magical performance of The Nutcracker. Perfect for the whole family, audiences of all ages will be thrilled by this classic Christmas story which sees the Sugar Plum Fairy, Mouse King and Nutcracker Prince come to life.

The Snowman

Ring in the holidays with this ABA Productions and Birmingham Repertory Theatre production of “The Snowman”. The Snowman And The Bear

This year, the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong is helping you and your little ones get into the holiday spirit with these two classic Raymond Briggs’ musical tales. They’re brought to life on the big screen, while the orchestra performs the score live in concert with soloist singers. Experience the enchanting stories of The Snowman who comes alive as Christmas Eve draws near, and the girl who embarks on a bear ride one starry night.

Faust International Youth Theatre presents A Christmas Carol

Be taken on a journey through Christmas past, present and future with the bitter old Scrooge. This is a unique take on the Charles Dickens classic, with a spine-tingling twist, brought to you by the talented young actors and actresses from Faust International Youth Theatre. The show is suitable for children aged four and older.

Sweet and Sour Productions – A Christmas Carol (adapted by Candice Gourlay Moore)

For a more grown-up adaptation of A Christmas Carol (this one is suitable for children 8 years and older), look no further than the Hong Kong Fringe Club. This adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic adds in comedy, drama, music, and of course, plenty of Christmas spirit!

The 18th Classics For Kids Concert

The sweet and romantic sound of the SAR Philharmonic Charitable Foundation is back for another year, raising money for local charities. This year, we join Ah Mui and her three friends Do, Re and Mi as they discover an ancient storybook. This is an interactive concert for kids and adults of all ages to enjoy and sing along to!

Cecilian Singers

Rejoice and be merry with an evening of classic and contemporary Christmas carols sung by the Cecilian Singers. There will be two concerts this year, one at St. John’s Cathedral in Central and the other at All Saints Cathedral, Mong Kok. All proceeds for the event will be donated to Maggies’ Cancer Caring Centre.

Hong Kong Women’s Choir

The lovely ladies from the Hong Kong Women’s Choir are back and will have your family bopping along to jazz and pop songs, as well as some traditional Christmas carols. The British Brass Company of Hong Kong will be leading the sing-a-long and there’ll be mince pies, mulled wine and treats for the kids. To top it off, it’s all in the name of a good cause with profits going to the Love 21 Foundation.

Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club

Gather around the Christmas tree and sing carols with the spectacular Victoria Harbour as your backdrop. The only catch to these Christmas Eve carols is that you must be (or be the guest of) a member of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. It will be a Christmas Eve to remember!

SoCO Christmas Carols

If you fancy leaving the kids at home while you take in the merriment, head along to the 8th Annual Society of Community Organisation Christmas Carols. Ticket price includes free-flow drinks and canapes at the beautifully historic and festive Helena May.

Santa’s Secret Kingdom

This one is for families on the “Nice List”! We all know Hong Kong is a long way from the North Pole and so elves can be in short demand. During this magical, one-hour elf-training session, your little one will be led on a multi-sensory journey through Santa’s Secret Kingdom (location to be released on ticket purchase), meet a host of Santa’s little helpers and learn to spread the Christmas cheer. They’ll receive a graduation certificate and a present from the big man himself. This is a fun, interactive Christmas experience for the whole family.

When:  Sunday, 8 December, 2019, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 2:30pm and 4:30pm

Treasure Island Christmas Weekend

The folks in South Lantau are going all out for a weekend full of Christmas frivolity! Head to the idyllic Pui O Beach for two packed days of Christmas markets. You’ll find gifts, fine foods and wines as well as face-painting and activities for the kids. On Sunday, Santa himself will be swinging by on his sleigh so you know those kids will be on their best behaviour!

The weekend finishes with the 2nd Annual Charity Beach Ball. This is one for the grown-ups and includes free-flow drinks, a special Christmas dinner buffet, live music and dancing, all to raise money for a good cause — the Lantau Island Animal Welfare Charity.

AIA Great European Carnival

For a touch of European Christmas cheer, right here in the heart of Central, look no further than the annual AIA Great European Carnival. While not strictly Christmas-themed, this annual event has become synonymous with the festive season here in Hong Kong. Take the kids along for some carnival fun —ride the carousel, try your hand at games and, of course, schedule a visit to the circus.
