OWN Future Fair

It’s never too early to start thinking about the future mama, especially where our little ones are concerned. OWN Academy are hosting a free inter-school event for kiddos ages 10 -14 in an opportunity to give them a little guidance and have them explore different career and life paths that they’re interested in or perhaps explore the different industries that they may not have heard of. The fair is a chance to bring together 30 different and inspiring young working professionals, representing a wide variety of professions, ranging from artistic individuals to entrepreneurs and corporate leaders.  Spark your tyke’s curiosity for the future and start honing in relevant skills!

When: Saturday, 30 April, 9.30am-6pm

The Story Teller Your Child Loves

According to Dr Seuss “The more you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you will go.” – so why not lay down the foundation early and join in with these fun storytelling sessions, or have your helper come along and learn how to read stories, the benefits of using props and visual aids, as well as the importance of a related craft and activity. The monthly sessions will be led by BabySteps’ experienced therapeutic play specialist, Miss A!

The Whimsical Muse Flower Workshop

This two-hour floral workshop is a gorgeous collaboration between the design teams at Ellermann and Altfield Interiors, in a celebration of design inspired by nature! With designs inspired from the great fabric houses of the UK, Europe and Asia, learn to create your own floral centre piece to take home with you. There will also be a series of casual discussions about the designing process, incorporating flowers into your home, and setting a stunning table to be discussed over the course of the event!

When: Wednesday, 27 April – Friday, 29 April (click here for timings)
Where: Altfield Gallery Annex, 9th floor, Gee Chang Hong Centre, 65 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong

YWCA-Spring-Fair-YAW

YWCA Spring Bazaar 2016

With everything from jewellery, clothing, children items and gifts through to home decorations, food and wine on sale, you won’t want to miss out on this years YWCA Spring Bazaar, mama! With over 50 vendors attending the event, browse YWCA’s delicious bake sale, second-hand books, and support your favourite charity stalls with heaps of fabulous things to buy as well as win on the day! Can’t make it, mama? YWCA are also on the hunt for for baked goods donations – both savoury and sweet for the bake sale, so if you’re handy in the kitchen, or would just like to contribute, please contact [email protected]. All proceeds from the Spring Bazaar will go towards YWCA and its many charitable activities!
