Creative Secondary School is synonymous with fostering children’s growth and confidence, but did you know about its exciting student-led projects and performances?

We all want our kids to find fun in learning and Creative Secondary School (CSS), has totally mastered it. As an IB World School, CSS understands that developing the whole child means empowering them to explore their interests, try new things and think outside the box. What’s more, the school is committed to providing students with opportunities to lead campaigns, thrive and build confidence to find their places in the world. From African drumming sessions during lunchtime to Chinese musical appreciation, and productions like Winter Arts Showcase and Grease, here’s how CSS brings students’ talent to the forefront.

CSS Arts Come Roaring Back With Grease!

The CSS arts community is erupting back into the scene after a hiatus during Covid. On Thursday, 1 and Friday, 2 February, they’re bringing one of the most iconic musicals ever to be stage – ‘Grease’ to CSS! The talented troupe of over 130 students is comprised of students from the cast, orchestra, band, vocal ensemble and a number of production teams. The musical has also been a fantastic leadership opportunity for two talented Form 5 students, Sophia Woodbury and Jasmine Nizal, who have choreographed the all the major dance numbers in the show. Grease will be a showcase of dedication, teamwork and commitment demonstrated by each member of the team.

Parents can relive the classic American rom-com with rock and roll, leather jackets and hot cars! Do note that this is a private event for CSS students only and the tickets are available only for enrolled students and their families.

The Winter Arts Showcase – A spectacle of creativity

Back in December 2023, CSS hosted its annual Winter Arts Show which saw an explosion of talent, creativity, and pure artistic brilliance. From dance to drama, music to visual arts, the event was a true celebration of students’ dedication and passion for the arts. Students were joined by their families to come together to cheer and support the young talents.

The exceptional talent not only draws in the audience but also gives a platform for students to express their imagination and creativity – in turn motivating them to go after their dreams and aspirations. Whether your child enjoys the art of theatre performance, the unity of the orchestra (a highlight of the Winter Arts Showcase), or the cultural and individual expression expression of dance, they will receive all the teaching, training and teamwork skills that they need to shine on stage!

Equipping Students With Indispensable Skills Outside The Classroom

Aside from the annual festivals and larger-scale productions, Creative Secondary School offers a wide variety of Arts related activities like African drumming sessions during lunch and Chinese musical appreciation, as well as plenty of opportunities for public speaking and self-expression. The rigorous standards-based curriculum alongside engaging extracurricular activities provides a holistic approach that sets the school apart and contributes to the overall development of its students.

Admissions for the 2024-2025 are now open – find more information here.
