The Wise King

New Bar Openings – Hugger Mugger, The Wise King & Room 309

We’ve heard of a few new bars opening their doors in Hong Kong, so if you didn’t know, Hugger Mugger, a 29-seat British salon reminiscent of 1970s London will be opening later this month on Wyndham Street (near Tai Kwun). The Wise King, which opened last month, is a modern classic bar serving up light snacks and drinks. And Room 309, the latest from Antonio Lai (known for Quinary, Origin, The Envoy, Angel’s Share Whisky Bar & Restaurant, and VEA), just had its soft opening. Take note: Room 309 is by invitation only, as the bar seats only 20 at a time, so just “check in” at the Pottinger Hotel reception desk to get a seat. You’ll be given a card key to enter.
