Celebrating student achievement doesn’t stop after graduation. International school, Hong Kong Academy welcomed back successful alumni, Dylan Halbroth, to inspire the next generation.
It’s no secret that all Hong Kong Academy students are encouraged to pursue their own individual pathways to excellence. Now, current students are gaining an insight into the interesting and diverse places that their education and higher studies can take them. HKA recently welcomed back 2018 graduate and published musician Dylan Halbroth, to work with the IB Diploma Music students.
Dylan has certainly been busy since graduation! His studies have taken him to DBs Catalyst, Institute for Creative Arts and Technology in Berlin, where he graduated with flying colours. Following on from that success, he’s gone on to record his debut EP – “Against The Dying Light”, which shines a light on mental health issues. It doesn’t stop there, with his latest collaboration, “Darktifik Remixes”, published just a few weeks ago.
As a testament to the strength of global alumni connections at Hong Kong Academy, Dylan was motivated to give back to his junior classmates. In between his busy schedule, he led two live online masterclasses for the IB Diploma Music students on the theme of making and monetizing music on digital platforms. It truly is a tangible inspiration for what could lie ahead in the very near future!
Dylan sums it up best himself:
“One thing I’ve learned from my time at HKA is the importance of being open-minded and curious. No matter what I achieve, being open-minded to learning new things from anyone is a value I nurture every day.”
