Each of us has our own unique journey to undertake and Hong Kong Academy is helping your children forge their own paths. Find out how this school encourages individual excellence and trains kids to apply what they learn in both academic and real-world ways.

For the last 21 years, Hong Kong Academy (HKA) has been offering a highly personalised and joyful education for students between 3 and 18 years. The school believes that how children learn is just as important as what they learn. Its educational programmes are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive as thoughtful and successful individuals. Even more so, there is great emphasis on encouraging children to contribute to their local and global communities. HKA believes that this unique focus will help set kids on the path to individual excellence.

What Makes Hong Kong Academy Unique?

HKA understands that when it comes to education, it cannot be one-size-fits-all. While the instruction is personalised, each student is recognised for his or her potential.

  • All HKA students are guided to apply what they learn in both academic and real-world ways.
  • The majority of HKA students graduate with three internationally recognised credentials – the HKA Diploma (a credit-based high school diploma), the Global Citizen Diploma (GCD) certificate (a portfolio-based certificate) and the IB Diploma.
  • HKA has a diverse and inclusive community.

How Does HKA Encourage Real-Life Application

As an international IB World School, HKA is focused on the real-life application of concepts. In Primary School, this is noticeable with the integration of specialist subjects into units of inquiry. It helps students understand the many ways that their learning connects and intersects across a range of areas. It also encourages them to speak up and teaches them that their voice and ideas can make a difference.

In Middle School (Grades 6 to 10), students have regular learning blocks during which they develop self-initiated projects and focus on problem-based learning.
