It can sometimes feel as if there’s not a whole lot of fun things to enjoy being pregnant – alcohol, sushi and coffee (all great pleasures in life I think we can agree) are out of bounds, and going to bed is pretty much the highlight of your day (I once got so tired I actually had to sit on the floor in Oliver’s to rest… which was embarrassing!). Even the delicious endless sleeping of the first pregnancy becomes near-impossible if you’ve already got little ones running around under your feet, so there’s nothing else for it but to head out to the spa for some much-needed pampering!
Thankfully there are some utterly fab options for Mama-to-be massages in Hong Kong, and the newest on the block come from The Mandarin Spa at The Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, whose spa as we know is the best of the best. It’s also Mothering Sunday next weekend so your partner really should be planning a special treat for you anyway so just leave this post up on the computer screen and hope they get the message! The two brand new treatments are “Mellow Mummy” (available in either 60 or 90 minute sessions, using rose oil to balance those crazy hormones) and “Body and Bump” (90 minutes with scented oils and balms to treat skin and banish stretch marks plus a facial and hair mask).
We’d love to know what mamas-to-be who try out the treatments think of the revolutionary new Pregnancy Cushion that The Mandarin Spa has… It’s supposed to be better than a traditional pregnancy massage bed as it is completely adjustable to support body, boobs and bump.
The “Mellow Mummy” treatment starts from HK990 and the 90-minute “Body and Bump” treatment from HK1,450. You can make a reservation by calling the spa directly on 2825 4888 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
