Mini Goddess… whatever Next?

Mini Goddess is born from the weekly Instant Goddess column. Now i’m going to give you style ideas from tots to teens.

Calling all Mini Gods and Mini Goddesses in HK! Fed up with Zara, H&M, Mothercare? Want another High Street option to dress your tot in this season? Well, have no fear, because the UK high street brand Next is now shipping to HK through its US website nextdirect.com – and it promises delivery in 2-3 working days…for FREE! The weather is cooling down and soon we’ll be in need of some weather appropriate gear. Look no further… Next has plenty to offer. And it’s not just for tots only, Next stocks clothes for newborns – 16 year olds.

For those of you that are Instant Goddess regulars, I know you already know about Next, but I feel it’s only right that we let the little ones in on the action as well!

Mini goddesses first

As the winter season approaches, I’ll be looking for jeans and trousers to dress my little girl in… and I’m loving the options on Next, here are just a handful which caught my eye.

Long sleeve tops will also be a must soon. I prefer layering cotton tops as they’re softer on the skin, but Next also carries a good range of knitwear from fine cotton to chunkier knits.

Mini gods

I don’t have a baby boy so I won’t profess to being an expert on dressing them! But so often, I hear my mama friends with sons moaning about the lack of choice for boys compared to girls in the shops. And I have to say I agree… when faced with buying boys clothes as presents! Looking at what’s on offer at Next, I think they’ve done a pretty good job! Here are a few selections that I would be dressing my boy in, if I had one!  But seeing as I’m operating a one child policy… that’s unlikely. I thought the chinos below were reasonably priced and came in a great range of masculine friendly colours, also with an elasticated waist they will be easy to get on and off… and there’s no fussing about!

 Heritage chinos

Heritage quilted jacket | Neutral pattern cardigan | Black Marshall top & Plain hooded grey topFairisle tank set & bright blue chinos

I’m also loving the little grey quilted jacket above, which would be a great option for HK winter when so often you don’t really need a proper coat, but just an extra layer over a long sleeve top. I also liked the other combos above, giving inspiration on how to layer while keeping it interesting! And even a fair isle knitted vest thrown in the mix… but if anyone can get away with it then it has to be a little dude about town.

Coat & gilet selection

I find that padded gilets are always a great option for HK winter, but if you’re after a proper coat, then Next also have some very affordable options.

Finally, these tongue in cheek tee’s have to be my favourite. I’m also loving the retro drumstick (UK lolly chew) tee which takes me back to my own childhood… chomping away on a drumstick chew! And if you have a boy called Jack or a friend with a boy called Jack then the Jack the Lad tee is an excellent present!
