Sassy Scoop: Happy New You with Gecko Yoga!

We’ve long been fans of Gecko Yoga – their family focus and mama-friendly classes make them a firm fave at Sassy Mama HQ! Partnering with Shakti Healing Circle in Central, Gecko will offer some brand new classes for 2014 alongside their more established sessions.

Prenatal yoga classes encourage maintaining healthy habits in pregnancy and aim to ready both mind and body for the new arrival. Classes take place each Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 12-1pm; Tuesday between 2-3pm and Thursday between 1.30-2.30pm.

Postnatal yoga classes are suitable for mamas who want to focus on their core strength, be it immediately postnatal, or even years post-delivery. Sessions take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 1:30-2:30pm; Tuesday between 12:30-1:30pm and Thursday between 12-1pm.

Baby yoga classes are suitable for tiny tots from 6 weeks up to pre-crawling stage, along with their mamas or caregivers. The class focuses on touch, gentle movement and rhythmic sounds. Classes take place each Tuesday between 3.30-4.30pm.

Yoga for the Inflexible is a gentle introduction to yoga that allows participants to progress at their own pace, reaping the benefits of your practice. Classes take place on Tuesdays between 8-9.15am.

In addition to the new lineup, Gecko’s Baby, Toddler & Kids Yoga Classes at FunZone in Kennedy Town is the perfect way to fill your afternoon as admission to Gecko’s classes also includes playtime at FunZone after the class… hello mama catch-up!

Baby yoga classes take place at FunZone on Thursdays between 3-3.45pm.

Toddler yoga classes are for kiddos from 1 to two years, along with their parent or caregiver. The toddler-appropriate classes include yoga, massage, songs and rhymes.  Sessions run on Thursdays between 2-2.45pm.

Kids yoga classes are for littlies aged three and over, and are active sessions comprising animal poses, songs, stories and plenty of play! Classes take place on Thursdays between 4-4.45pm.
