Those cocktails are looking very tempting!
It won’t be long until our friends start disappearing to all corners of the globe for the festive season, so there’s no better time to schedule in a much-needed mums-only catch up. The weather has cooled down, that after-work (or after-kids-are-in-bed) drink is looking like a mighty fine idea! This month there are new cocktail menus to try, BYO wine deals and martinis to be drunk for a good cause. We’ll cheers to that!
Why wait until there are guests in town to take in the breathtaking views from Aqua Spirit? We think it’s high time to head here with your best gal pals. Until January 2020, the bar is teaming up with Tanqueray Gin to bring you “Homegrown” cocktails made with distinct botanical flavours and hand-picked, fresh herbs. Be sure to try out the Rosebud Dusk — with its strong floral notes of lavender, jasmine and rose, or the sensationally sweet Sherbet Sundown.

Kakure is mixing up the traditional martini by making it with vodka instead of gin. Until Saturday, 30 November, Kakure is serving up an exclusive cocktail drink that will make you want to travel to Japan’s seafood market immediately. The cocktail, Umami-Tini, pays homage to umami by using truffle zest and Japanese Umami Bitters to bring out the savoury element. If you’d prefer to sip from the regular menu, get there for Happy Hour, which runs from 4pm to 7pm daily.
You have an amazing new bottle of wine just waiting to be tasted, but you want to dine out. Head along to any of Pirata Group’s restaurants (except Pici) for Monday Wine Club. Wine-loving mamas can bring a bag full of wine and enjoy a corkage rate of only $50 per bottle. This is definitely a deal that cannot be missed! Be sure to make a booking and the offer is valid for up to 12 guests. The only decision left is which restaurant will you choose? The Optimist, TokyoLima, MEATS or, of course, the classic Pirata!
We might be all about the mamas, but that doesn’t mean we can’t support the papas by getting behind Movember! This November head on over to the Duecento 208, Back Bar, Behind Bars, Commissary, Duddell’s, Old Bailey, Louise or Potato Head for a signature Mo’Tini! All are $100 (plus service charge) and 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Movember Foundation supporting men’s health. With flavours like the Nutty Espresso (Back Bar) and the Sweet Awakening (Louise) you’ll be happy to spend your month bar-hopping!
Chôm Chôm brings Vietnam’s lively Bia Hoi-style bar to Hong Kong. The menu is inspired by classic Hanoi street foods and has a diverse selection of regional Vietnamese beers. With the weather cooling down, it’s now the perfect time for relaxing outdoors. Head southside and chill on the stunning terrace at Kömune.
