Looking for an enriching early childhood education centre? Fairchild Junior Academy is one to consider. Instilling education through play, Fairchild cultivates your child’s curiosity, creativity and confidence.

Our little ones grow up so fast, and before we know it, it’s time to look into early education options. We all want what’s best for our child, so if you’re looking for a centre that provides more than than just day care, look no further than Fairchild Junior Academy (FJA).

FJA’s new early childhood education centre opened in Tin Hau in mid-February (occupying the entire top floor of the Park Commercial Centre). A custom-designed sensory learning space, the centre provides every opportunity for children to explore, imagine, discover, take risks, construct and ask questions. See what Fairchild has to offer at their Open House on Saturday, 16 April… bring the kids too!

Designed for children six months to 4 years, FJA programs are guided by British Columbia and Ontario Early Learning Frameworks, and the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage. FJA’s partnerships (with York House and Saint George’s schools in Vancouver and Toronto’s Bishop Strachan School) provide opportunities for shared professional development, best practice in Early Childhood Education, and benchmarking against prestigious, high-ranking schools in Canada.

With a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, play and child-constructed learning is central to all programs, so your kids will have a ball! At FJA, play fosters creativity and flexibility in children’s critical thinking and problem solving, key to academic numeracy and literacy development.

With unique play-focused programs for each age group, each one is catered to your child’s developmental stage. Infants (6-12 and 12-18 months) for instance are guided through one hour of engaging activities to stimulate brain and body development. Everything from music, rhythm and movement, to language and physical play provides experiences to grow and connect. Toddlers (18-28 months) have a 1.5 hour program that serves as a foundation for their social and language skills, with spaces to dig and paint, pour and measure, and reflect and retract light together.

Fairchild plans to provide a single school system which children can enter from age 6 months and grow through to Grade 12, without having to reapply, re-interview or change school styles. This means less pressure on you and stability, continuity and lifelong friendships for your child.

And it all begins at Fairchild Junior Academy, which nurtures the development of the whole child, bringing out the best in every individual.
