The Paris-based school, L’ÉCOLE, will be visiting PMQ to shed light on the workings of jewellery design with new programmes and workshops. Held in small groups of 12, children and teenagers are invited to create their own jewellery objects using different materials and to learn about gemstones and jewellery making. Covering five themes, each workshop will last two hours.
Create your jewel (5 to 8 years old):
With a designer from Van Cleef & Arpels’ design studios, your children will colour, cut and decorate jewellery design templates with mosaics, stones, ribbons and feathers to create their own special piece of custom-made jewellery.
Create your precious clock (8 to 12 years old):
Children will learn about the inspiration behind clocks and watches, before creating their own clock using a five nature-inspired dial model.
Make your treasure chest (8 to 12 years old):
Your kids will look at Minaudière cases to decorate their own personal box to hold their own jewellery pieces.
Discovering the world of stones (13 to 16 years old):
Led by a gemmologist, your teens will use tools to examine fine decorative stones. They’ll experience the unique joy of working with gems first-hand!
Mock-up, first sculptural vision of the jewel (13 to 16 years old):
Guided by an experienced jewellery mock-up maker, teens will learn specific techniques of jewellery mock-up making. They’ll see the design take on a three-dimensional form right before their eyes.
