Style & BeautyPost Category - Style & BeautyStyle & Beauty

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la…

Instant Goddess is feeling festive! December is nearly upon us which means party time, Goddesses! The temperature is starting to cool and I’ve been under the bed to retrieve last year’s winter clothes… it’s looking a little dull. Does your Christmas wardrobe need a little spruce up? Here’s some inspiration to get you ship, shape and party fit in no time at all.

Party dresses – the long and short of it

Short
Gold and black, sequins, baroque, tassels, jewel encrusted, lace and feathers… there’s something for every party goer in this little haul.

Noel boucle dress, ASOS, by Whistles $2300 | Baroque Mesh Dress, House of Fraser by Karen Millen $2590 | Tina Tassel dress, House of Fraser, by Phase 8 $1850

ASOS feather dress with lace top $2092 | Long sleeve sequin mini dress in navy, ASOS, by French Connection $2230 | ASOS velvet midi dress with jewels $1045 | Zara fantasy neck dress $899

Long
I am loving the floor length numbers below (very Downton Abbey for the most part, I’m sure you’ll agree) from Phase 8 available from House of Fraser’s UK website. Unfortunately, international shipping is not free and costs approx $120 but at least they ship here!

Collette evening dress, House of Fraser, by Phase 8 $3395 | Petra lace beaded maxi dress, House of Fraser, by Phase 8 $3701 | Grecian Embellished dress, House of Fraser by Phase 8 | Cinderella beaded dress, House of Fraser by Phase 8 $3085

First off lace and then gold & black again caught my eye with the dresses below. I’m loving River Island’s homage to the D&G gold baroque that was so prevalent on the catwalks for A/W 12. River Island ships to Hong Kong but it costs approx $120 so you are better off buying their label from ASOS which ships internationally for free. However, get on River Island’s mailing list, if you’re so inclined, as at times they offer free international shipping and of course carry a greater range than ASOS.

Matt long jersey dress, House of Fraser, by JS Collections now $1295 | Beaded embellished maxi dress, ASOS, by River Island $1672

Going out jackets
It’s that time of year when the “going out” jacket really does come into its own. Again this season, sequin jackets are still showing their face, so if you didn’t purchase last season you can makes amends now. The black & white tux look is still working its magic and I am loving the leather trims and sleeves that are giving an edgier look to this season’s evening jackets.

Next cream tux jacket $775 | Zara blazer with faux leather sleeves $699 | Sequin skinny blazer, ASOS by Warehouse $1324 | Disco blazer, Shopbop, by La Fee Verte $2015

Christmas jumpers
Obviously, Christmas isn’t Christmas without a jumper, unless of course you’re going to Koh Samui like me, where a jumper will be furthest from my mind. But, once I get back, I may be calling on one of these if Santa ASOS sends his reindeer my way.

Jewelled jumper, ASOS, by Warehouse $670 |  Next Ostrich cardigan $535 | Animal print embellished jumper, ASOS , by Warehouse $630 | Embellished collar jumper, House of Fraser by Glamourous $420

Christmas day
Whether it’s a posh hotel brunch or a stay at home family affair, it doesn’t matter what people say – Christmas Day is the day where you can dress up, have a glass of bubbly in hand, and throw caution to the wind… which often means another glass of bubbly and maybe another.

Red lace shift dress, House of Fraser, by Pied a Terre reduced now $1100 |  Printed lace dress with pleat skirt and belt, ASOS, by Karen Millen $2440 | Vienna print dress, House of Fraser, by Phase 8 $1730

Midweek meal inspiration

You know I love a bit of Good Housekeeping. And this week I give you their Prawn Noodle Salad… it’s quick, easy, pretty low in fat and calories… so up the Instant Goddess street! Plus, it’s great for limbering up… to get into those party dresses above!

Yogi tea saying of the week: “Those who live in the past limit their future”.

Instant Goddess saying of the week: “Limber up, flex the shopping muscles and party on”

Until next week Goddesses and remember you are always, always worth it! XX
