Can’t deal with the idea of catering all by yourself?
We parents know all too well just how much time and effort go into hosting a party. And when it’s a birthday party for your child, you want to make it extra special. But doing all that work isn’t always easy (especially if you’re a working mum!). Our solution? Hire a caterer! We’ve listed our favourites around town who will (ahem) cater to your every need, be it food, drink, cakes and more. All you need to do is kick up your heels and enjoy the party (for once!).
Give your kiddos a reason to brag on their special day and hire the chefs who did the backstage catering for Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Clockenflap and more! With a goal of making events delicious, Chef Dennis and Chef Anouska turned a small café into one of Hong Kong’s largest catering company. Choose the gammon ham and brie rolled crepes on sticks, beef burgers on colourful buns or fresh fruit skewers with marshmallows. Fancy something a bit different? Go with the Bento Boxes featuring roast duck and cucumbers in tortillas and pan-seared red mullet with linguine.
Shamrock is well known for its children’s party catering with menu items including mini pizzas and “ants on sticks” – check out its extensive choices on its kids’ parties menu, or request something off the menu to suit all your event needs. And if you’re looking to really make it the kids’ party of the year, consider throwing in a cotton candy machine or a chocolate fountain! Shamrock can even take care of providing games and entertainment for your kiddos.
We are big fans of Chef Tom Burney’s Invisible Kitchen. Its nutritious and healthy food doesn’t skimp on flavour and holds the title of one of Hong Kong’s greenest caterers. Present your guests with a range of tasty canapés and mouth-watering dishes all attentively delivered by its wait staff or a personal chef. Or, opt for a buffet menu and add on the children’s menu. With kid-friendly food options like fried rice, cheese straws and pita pizzas, your littlest gourmands are sure to be impressed.
Doesn’t every little one love a sweet treat, especially on their birthday? One of Sassy Mama’s favourite sandwich shops (and go-to lunch spots!) now offers healthy, delicious and full catering meals for junk boat parties, office get-togethers, summer picnics and of course, kids birthday parties! If you’re keen on keeping your kids’ birthday parties clean and healthy, Relish introduces its unique menu made entirely with fresh, seasonal produce. Let them handle all the cooking, washing, lifting and organising while you sit back and give your kid the best birthday party ever! While they don’t have a specific children’s menu, they are the experts when it comes to bespoke catering. Have a chat and discuss your needs. We think the casual menu works for a kids’ party and includes grilled salmon, beef tenderloin and BBQ specialities. It also has a petite pot dessert menu and muffins, scones and cookies. Don’t ignore its whole cakes menu; our personal favourite is the Relish Signature Whipped Chocolate Ganache Cake.

You may have seen Habitu dotted around town, and maybe even stopped for a little caffeine fix. But did you know it also caters? Bringing rustic, bespoke European flavours, you can indulge in its bakery box full of delectable pastries, or order a sharing platter and pass the nibbles around. Holding a party for your teen and need something more sophisticated? The goat cheese, lemon zest and beetroot tartines and the truffle cotto ham and melted cheese tea sandwiches will have your pretty miss or suave mister sipping their teas with their pinkies up. Finish it all off with one of Habitu’s cakes. Did we mention it offers a butler service to set up tables, serve food, look after guests, take photos, and more?

Sausalito’s staff are more than well acquainted with catering for our precious tots. With lots to offer on its menu from special coffee blends to refreshing salads, its simple but incredible combinations of ingredients are sure to satisfy any guest. Our favourites include the Thai Chicken salad and turkey deluxe ciabatta, and that’s before we get started on the sweet stuff!

If nutrition and choice are equally important to you, you’ve found your match with Nosh’s fuss-free buffet catering. Best known as a meal plan and office lunch delivery service, it serves only organic quinoa, grass-fed beef, hormone-free chicken, and the freshest ingredients, making sure your guests are getting the quality they deserve. We like the sound of the roasted potato and corn salad and the cauliflower mac and cheese for the younger kids, and the jerk chicken salad with sweet chilli dressing and the sweet potato mashed with honey mustard sauce for the mamas and papas. Don’t forget to indulge (it is a celebration after all!) with some cheesecake or a green tea tart.
