If you needed an extra incentive to check out some of HK’s fabbest museums, this weekend they’re free for everybody to celebrate International Museum Day. The special theme for the event is “Museums in a Changing World“, and we recommend the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Sha Tin, or the Hong Kong Science Museum as being particularly fun for littlies! If you can’t wait, and are desperate to beat the heat, Ice World is opening this Saturday at The Venetian. Harbin’s ice artisans have been chipping and carving away at some amazing displays and an amazing Dragon Slide… it’s the afternoon out for the kids, and mama can finally cool down in temperatures of -8 degrees Celsius. Bring hats and closed-toe shoes!

Get messy!
Hong Kong is in its annual art frenzy this week with the return of ART HK, and there’s a way to get littlies in on the fun too, by attending Little Picasso’s HANDSCAPE event for kids aged 3 and above. Little Picasso is teaming up with the Sovereign Art Foundation, a Hong Kong charity that raises money to help disadvantaged children using the arts, and invites you and your kids to come along to create works of art by adding handprints to a huge canvas of the HK skyline, having a go at graffiti and making custom totes… for free! [Meanwhile, art-loving foodie mamas should check out the amazing ART HK inspired menu at The Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong – it has to be seen to be believed!]
