The Noho area is so chic and full of many fabulous stores, and among them, Ms B’s Cakery, brought to us by Hong Kong style icon (and the lady behind penthouse bar SEVVA) Bonnie Gokson. If you’ve ever stood at the entrance to SEVVA and drooled over the immaculate display of gorgeous cakes, now the range has been expanded outside her original and deservedly famous Caramel Crunch Cake.
The standalone cakery is located on a quiet but charming and hip side street, uphill from The Centre in Queen’s Road in Central. Ms B’s CAKERY promises to “raise simple perfection to an art, from preparation to presentation” – with unique flavour combinations and extraordinarily good taste.
The menu of decadent desserts will include the butterfly kisses cake shown above (HK920), a chiffon cake with layers of fresh fruits and rainbow treats topped with handmade sugar butterflies, and a crepe suzette cake (below) made of French crêpes and orange bavarois (HK420). While the price range is a little outside the average most of us would drop for a kids birthday cake, they’re a sinfully delicious indulgence for mama!
If you’re looking for a really unique cake for a special occasion, the Paradise cake below (HK$420), is made of lavender taro chiffon layers with coconut cream and glazed young coconut.
“Everything is made from scratch from premium quality, natural ingredients of the finest produce sourced from all over the world,” Ms Gokson tells Sassy. There are even sugar-free and gluten-free versions available!
