We’ve always been big fans of this quirky Chinese kitchen and, with a brand new cocktail list, now we’ve got one more reason to head back for another visit. We can’t wait to try the 800 Miles ($118) – a concoction of gin, lychee, lime, ginger ale and bitters, or the Shu-Jia ($118) which mixes cachaça with purple potato Yakult, spiced apple and lime.
Head on over to Hutong’s Moon Gate Bar for great views over the city and to try its newest cocktail creation — the Rising Dragon. This fruity mix combines Monkey Shoulder whiskey, yuzu wine, pineapple, pomegranate and egg white, served in a coupe glass and topped with an intricate rice paper design.
Another of our favourite Chinese restaurants has revamped its cocktail list for the CNY holidays. Available for a limited time only, be sure to try out The Entrepreneur ($80) a mix of ratafia, recycled tonic and cinnamon or The Companion ($100) with Suze, gin, raspberry, orange flower water and egg white. Pair it up with the special Chinese New Year menu and you and your mamas will be set for a great night out!
A casual pizza night is always a great way to catch up with your mum squad. Motorino just went to the top of our list, not only for its wonderful pizzas but also for its new Brooklyn-inspired cocktail menu. Try the Prospect Park Peach ($98) with gin, amaretto, peach liqueur, basil and soda or the Bushwick Gimlet ($98), a blend of vodka, bergamot and melon liqueur, lime and grapefruit bitters.

If you’re like me and prefer a daytime tipple so you can be tucked up in bed not long after the kids, this could be just the treat for you! Stazione Novella is hosting wine classes every Sunday from 4pm. Be whisked away to the vineyards of Italy, pick your favourite and pair it up with an aperitivo spread ($198 per person).
