Post Category - ParentingParentingA Disneyland rollercoaster they’re finally tall enough to ride? Our favourite meal that might have been too spicy for their taste buds last year? A comfort movie that would’ve been too much for a 3-year-old to watch? Team Sassy Mama has compiled everything we can’t wait to experience with our children in 2026 – maybe you’ll get some ideas too!
Among our own Sassy Mamas, our kids are all in different stages of life. Some are learning to walk while others are starting their IGCSEs, which means they’re all being introduced to new and exciting things in Hong Kong every year. From experiences we’ve had (and loved) that we can’t wait to share with our little ones to completely new things for the whole family that they simply weren’t old enough to try yet, here’s a complete list of everything we’re looking forward to doing with our kids in the new year.

- We can go hiking with them now that I don’t need to carry so much stuff!
- My oldest will get to try Space Mountain at Disneyland – it was my favourite ride when I was younger.
- I can finally introduce my 8-year-old to ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ and the ‘Hobbit’ trilogy. She’ll also soon experience the magic of Pandora in the ‘Avatar’ movie.
- We want to take them to Macau soon for the first time – they’ll love the ferry ride.

- I’m trying to introduce them to more local food. So far they’ve enjoyed claypot rice, pigeon, roasted goose and sesame ice cream. Next stop: a dai pai dong!
- Cable cars! They don’t seem to be afraid of heights so it shouldn’t be a problem…
- We’re going to do the Disney Run this year! They’re old enough and really enjoy dressing up.
- My daughter has just started doing gymnastics class and will soon start drop-off art classes too – I’m already preparing myself for the mess.
- This is the year my son learns how to ride a bike!

- Skiing! We’ll have to venture outside of Hong Kong, but we’re so excited!
- I’m taking my baby to a sign language class as babies learn how to communicate quicker through sign than verbal language – at least that’s what we were told.
- I really want to take them to see the Egyptian exhibition at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, as well as the Bruce Lee exhibition at The Hong Kong Heritage Museum.
- We’re going to attempt an overnight camp this year. They’re finally not terrified of the dark…
- Can’t wait to take them to the new outdoor parks in Hong Kong!
