Pikapika is still one of the best-kept secrets amongst those in the know. It offers a bunch of very affordable nail treatments for natural nails ($150 for a manicure or $280 for a pedicure) and artificial nails (starts at $380 for a gel manicure and $420 for a gel pedicure). Carte Blanche – Japanese manicures and pedicures by a team of experts (For Mamas and Papas!)
If you adore the Japanese beauty aesthetic, Carte Blanche is made for you! A lot of the beauty salon staff are either Japanese or have had experience in Japan, which means they are experts on the latest beauty trends and products from the land of the rising sun. The cheapest manicure and pedicure options are $350 or $550, respectively. The gel nail options are pricier than others in the city with a Shellac manicure starting at $550 or Shellac pedicure from $750, but the expertise of the technicians justifies the price tag.

The marvellous ambience is matched by the skilled staff who carry out all the treatments and mani-pedi options that you expect to find at high-end nail salons. Our favourite part? Browsing the shelves to choose a coveted nail polish brand and colour – it always feels like being a kid in a candy store! Nail20 – Clean, fuss-free and a go-to nail salon in Hong Kong
Nail20 is very much a no-frills salon, so don’t expect above and beyond when it comes to the space. But the ambience is perfectly pleasant and it is very clean and professional. There’s a great range of nail services from standard manicure and pedicure treatments to soak-off gel and hard gel options. At just $100 for an express manicure or $140 for an express pedicure, it’s a great option to get to the nail salon during your lunch break. Booking in advance is recommended!

Nail 333 – Nail salon for quick and fuss-free manicures and pedicures
This cheap and cheerful nail salon is a firm favourite in the Sassy office, not least because of its amazing selection of glitter polishes. Prices begin at $88 for a regular OPI manicure or $198 for soak-off gel with a free manicure. This is also a great option if you’re after some funky nail art. Bring along pictures of what you’re after, or trust the manicurist to work her magic.

Nail 88 – Nail salon with possibly one of the cheapest manicures in Hong Kong
Nail 88 is a no-frills, no-fuss nail salon that does a quick, decent coat of fresh paint at hard-to-beat prices. It’s a little rough around the edges, but with lacquer manicures costing just around $50, it’s hard to complain. Having quickly expanded across Hong Kong Island in the past few years, with locations now in Kennedy Town and North Point, make sure to call ahead or drop in just before the lunch rush as spots fill up quickly.

Ruby’s Nail – Bring your own photos to recreate nail art
This local spot is a clean and hygienic space, and the nail art that the technicians do is fantastic. Whilst the Facebook Page is in Cantonese, the professional, friendly staff do speak English. Prices range from $180 for a regular manicure and approximately $380 with soft gel. Bring a photo of your desired nail design (a good excuse to spend some time on Pinterest), and the staff here will recreate your look!

Iyara – Well-known nail salon you’ll spot from the Mid Levels escalator!
If you travel on the escalators, you’ll likely have noticed this popular spa on Cochrane Street. Iyara has stood the test of time since 2008, and also has locations on Hollywood Road and Prince’s Terrace. It offers an express manicure for $160, or for $250 you’ll also get a relaxing hand and arm massage. There’s a reason this place is always busy, so best to book in advance.

Lavande’s two charming locations in Hong Kong offer some unusual and luscious manicure and pedicure treatments.
