THE SPECIALISTS

Itsie Bitsie
Designed by Hong Kong girl Cristina Wilkinson (our food writer Ale’s older sister!), Itsie Bitsie sources and produces their incredible line of swim and resort wear in Bali. We love the cheeky little plunge top in the Plunge in Solas bikini (shown above), and the totally flattering So Long Suckers one-piece has us hooked! They stock cup sizes A-F for tops, with UK sizes 6-14 for bottoms, whilst prices are around $400 for bikinis and $900 for swimsuits. Itsie Bitsie also have a great selection of cover-ups with breezy maxi dresses and kaftans; their colourful range will definitely have you booking a holiday and basking in the sunshine before you know it! See our full article here for more deets.

Sabina Swims
For those of you who love quirky fun prints – there’s no better place than Hong Kong mama Sabina Wong’s Sabina Swims! There’s something for every body type; we particularly love their one-piece suits, which provide just enough coverage while still being sexy and fun! Bikini tops range from $550-650, with swimsuits priced around $1100. Their swimwear errs more on the petite side (the maximum is around a C cup) so you’re probably best off trying their goods on in person.

HM-Beyonce

THE STAPLES

H&M
Let’s be honest – everyone wants to look like Beyoncé after seeing the amazing photos from this year’s H&M adverts… and now you can score the look too! We love H&M’s fun and affordable fashion, and with bikinis all under $250, what’s not to like?

Marks & Spencer
A long-time favourite of every generation, British stalwart Marks & Spencer has something for everyone! M&S are particularly good for one-piece swimsuits, in both classic and bold designs; if you’ve got some bumps and bulges you want to hide, look out for the tummy control innovation that’s conveniently built into many of their swimsuit designs! Don’t forget to check out M&S’s cover-ups and beach accessories too (their big beach totes are always a winner!) to make sure you’ve got your entire beach look down!

cotton-on-swimwear

Cotton On
If you’re looking for flirty and feminine swimwear that won’t break the bank, rush over to Cotton On to win the bikini lottery! With tonnes of options to mix and match at uber affordable prices, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Most of their bikinis are under $300 (score!), with some currently on sale for only $30 (yes, you read that right!); they’re especially great for on-trend prints, colours and styles.

SOGO
We know, we know – SOGO is super crowded at the best of times and don’t even get us started on the mammoth queues! But we also know that come summer, they dedicate an entire floor to swimwear (with some real steals to be had too), which means that with just a little bit of patience, we promise that you’ll find something. Sassy Mama tip: if the mania around the swimwear section gets too much, head to the lingerie section where brands like Embry Form, Charmante and Triumph always have some swimwear options to shop from (and in a much more chilled environment too!). You can also check out some of the smaller department stores around town (like APITA or YATA) for even more options.

papeete-swimwear-hk

ONLINE

Papeete
It’s time to welcome a fabulous Hong Kong newcomer to the swimwear scene! Founders Jen and Lulu were frustrated at the limited choices for swimwear in our city, so they decided to break out with their own range of fun, sexy and stylish looks that will take you from surfing the sea straight to your long seafood lunch in Sai Kung without even breaking a sweat. Going up to UK size 14, we’re loving the on-trend neons and cut-outs from their first collection (check out the awesome swimming illusion detail on the Alice In Red swimsuit above!) and prices are mostly about the $1000 mark. Shipping is free within Hong Kong and the goods should appear on your doorstep after only 3 days – beach weekend, here we come! Banner photo also from Papeete.

Victoria’s Secret
We all agree it’s absolutely ridiculous that Hong Kong’s Victoria Secret only sells beauty products and accessories… Don’t we all wish they stocked their famous sexy swimsuits instead? If you’re desperate to become a VS Angel on the Hong Kong beaches, why not shop online for one of their pretty string bikinis, stunning tankinis or stylish one-pieces? Shipping costs depend on how much you’re buying (ranging from US$27.99 to a whopping US$109.99 if you have more than US$1000 worth of goods – we recommend doing a bulk order with mates, than splitting the costs), so let’s all pray that Hong Kong gets a proper swimsuit section in the IFC store soon!

ASOS-Solids-Mix-swimwear

ASOS
For free delivery worldwide and a HUGE (some might even say overwhelming!) range of choices, it just doesn’t get better than ASOS. Whenever we’re on the site, let’s just say that we never manage to close that browser empty-carted! For swimwear that’s super on-trend, go crazy surfing through pages of gorgeous bikinis, tankinis and one-pieces (there were over 1000 pieces when we last checked), available at pretty much every price point too. Aside from the usual brands (including FreyaSeafollySunseekerRiver IslandTed Baker andFrench Connection), be sure to check out their ASOS own brand that provides mix and match options in every colour, print and style imaginable. Bigger girls, make sure you check out their +DD selections and ASOS Curve collection.

Shopbop
If you’re in a hurry to get to the beach, then shop away at Shopbop! With worldwide shipping that’s free if you order over US$100 and most orders arriving within a week, log on now to make your purchase from brands including celeb faves We Are HandsomeHeidi KleinMara Hoffmann and Tyler Rose Swimwear. You can also get in on swimwear items from many of their signature international brands, including MadewellMarc by Marc JacobsRachel Pally and Tory Burch.

Figleaves-Pina-Colada

Figleaves
Figleaves has built up a rep for being the biggest and best one-stop online shop for all things lingerie and swimwear, and a quick glance at their extensive range of swimwear brands should tell you that it’s well deserved! Although they stock all the international staples (FreyaFantasiePanacheSeafollyPour Moi?), we’re most loving the look of their in-house lines – Midnight GraceJust Peachy (which even has a Bikini Bar app showing you how to mix and match all the possible combos) and Figleaf swimwear. We’ve gone totally gaga for their happy prints, such as the confetti coloured Pina Colada collection shown above! International shipping costs only GBP £5.50 with orders delivered within 5-10 working days. Also, did we mention that loads of these fun and supportive styles come in sizes up to a GG-cup – what more could we want?

Net-A-Porter
There’s only one place online to go for luxury fashion, and that’s Net-A-Porter! So far, we absolutely heart the colour-pop shades and unique prints we’re seeing on their site, including amazing finds from Charlie by Matthew ZincMissoniMara Hoffman and Melissa Odabash. Another plus is that shipping costs only HK$100 whatever the size of your order, with purchases received in two working days. It’s a shopper’s paradise if you’re looking for designer names, plus be sure to check out the sale section for some hidden steals!

wanderlust-1

Wanderlust
This Philippines-based and designed brand is absolutely awesome for reasonably priced and on-trend swimwear! We totally adore the colours of the Arabian Summer Swimsuit collection – especially their reversible twist bandeau and multi-way bikini tops (essentially several swimsuits in one = bargain!). Most of their swimwear will set you back around US$50-70 (with several pieces currently on sale), and there’s also free shipping for orders over US$150; be sure to check out Wanderlust’s Loyalty Rewards program where if you spend over US$200, you’ll get a US$30 gift voucher! Yay!

BeachBliss
For blissful beachwear, there’s ain’t anywhere better than the aptly named BeachBliss! With a focus on finding great new brands to introduce to their shoppers rather than the same old staples, we’re impressed with BeachBliss’ careful and stylish edit, with cool brands like Voda SwimsL*Space and B Swim. For ladies who want a little bit more oomph to their swimsuits, there’s a great push-up swimsuit section (many have even graced the pages of Sports Illustrated) – Voda Swim’s Envy push-up bikini claims it will have you looking up to two cup sizes bigger in no time! Most of the goods will set you back between US$50-150, with shipping to Hong Kong ranging between US$17-25… and be sure to check out BeachBliss’ Swim Blog for all their latest promotions and discount codes too!
