It’s turkey time…

You don’t have to be American to appreciate the appeal of roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing. Even in Hong Kong, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to Thanksgiving turkey options. Whether you are keen to roast your own, dine out or order in, we’ve rounded up all of the best options. Classic All-American at The Diner

Go all out Americana this Thanksgiving and get yourselves down to The Diner to enjoy their 50s-style decor and tunes whilst dining on your turkey dinner. Start off with butternut squash soup with sage & parmesan croutons, tuck into your turkey with sides of cornbread stuffing and creamed corn and end on a sweet note with pecan pie… lip-smacking stuff!

When: Thursday, 23 November, 7pm and 9pm sittings

Modern Thanksgiving at Commissary

If there is one thing Americans love, it’s a buffet. Why agonise over deciding between turkey, pork shoulder or brisket when you can have all three? Commissary doesn’t stop there – you can also pile on the mac and cheese, corn bread, biscuits, and even chicken and waffles! Desserts include pies, puddings and brownies. The restaurant also has vegetarian options that won’t make you feel like you’re missing out. With car parking available, stroller accessibility, and a kids corner courtesy of Maggie & Rose, this spot is a parent’s paradise.

A Southern Feast at Stone Nullah Tavern

We are drooling just reading Stone Nullah Tavern’s Thanksgiving options. The southern style offerings include fried turkey, biscuits with chili honey butter, pulled pork mac n’ cheese, and apple and cheddar stuffing. If you have a crowd of 6 or more, you can opt for their pre-ordered takeaway options. Book ahead to avoid disappointment!

Maggie & Rose’s Thanksgiving Family Feast

If you’re looking for a celebration that caters to kids and adults, you’ll want to book in for Maggie & Rose’s Thanksgiving family feast. In addition to the enticing menu, which includes turkey, ham, pecan and apple pies, there will be lively games and crafts. Learn more here.

Korean-American Thanksgiving at Jinjuu

Southern food not your thing? Jinjuu caught our eye with its Korean twist on classic turkey. If you are a fan of its whole Korean fried chicken, you’ll want to try the fried/roasted/stir-fried turkey. Yes, you read that right! The breast meat is glazed with doenjang and roasted, the legs are pressure-fried, and the wings are soy glazed and deep-fried!

When:  Monday, 20 November to Sunday, 26 November. Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

How much: $595 per guest for the Thanksgiving set menu, $988  for the special turkey menu (serves 4)

Fancy lunch at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse

If Thanksgiving lunch is more your style, check out Wolfgang’s Steakhouse. They are offering a full-on meal of smoked salmon, pumpkin butternut soup, sous vide turkey, or dry aged rib eye (tradition be damned), complete with sides and a pecan pie to finish. Every member of the family will be in need of a nap after, but it sounds worth it to us!

When: Wednesday, 2 November to Friday, 24 November during lunch and dinner service

Eating In

Impress your guests with the Mandarin Oriental

If you’re looking to host a five-star meal in the comfort of your own apartment, the Mandarin Oriental should be at the top of your list. Choose between a 7kg or 10kg turkey accompanied by the traditional stuffing, roasted pumpkin, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, giblet gravy, and either a classic pumpkin pie or a salted butter pecan pie. Feeling rebellious? Skip the turkey and opt for a honey glazed ham instead.

When: Thanksgiving delivery orders are available until Monday, 20 November 2017, and have to be placed 72 hours in advance.

Traditional Feast from Lily & Bloom

You can’t go wrong with the classics. Lily & Bloom is offering a whole American heritage turkey with gravy, sausage and sage stuffing (the best kind, in our opinion!), cranberry sauce, brussel sprouts with bacon… you get the idea. It’s as close to family dinner at our parents’ house as we can get.

When: Thanksgiving delivery orders are available until Monday, 20 November to Saturday, 30 December.

CRFT-PIT’s Southern Thanksgiving Combo

Famous for its southern style smoked meatsCRFT-PIT do not disappoint when it comes to delivering turkeys! Theses bad-boys are brined overnight and then smoked, before getting cooked until juicy and tender. The addition of the special home-made rub adds to the smoky flavour, while giving just a little hint of heat – delicious!

Burger Circus’ Pumpkin Pie

Not a baker? Last year we relied on Burger Circus for pumpkin pie and we are still thinking about how good it was. You can order for delivery or pick up ($188), or opt to eat in and order by the slice with a scoop of homemade ice cream ($58). The restaurant will also be serving up a pumpkin spice milkshakes ($78)!

Main St. Deli’s Turkey-to-go Combo

Having a tonne of people over? Main St. Deli’s combo can serve 6-8 or up to 20 adults. They’ll deliver the turkey and classic sides in an impressive carton box. The combo includes a delicious pumpkin soup, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and sweet potatoes that even your pickiest eater will love. Choose from pumpkin cheesecake, pecan and cherry pie or Christmas pudding for dessert. You can also opt to have them pre-slice the turkey, which, depending on your carving skills, just might save the day.

KellyBronze Turkey from Bones & Blades

Short on time but really want to cook your own bird? Bones & Blades’ KellyBronze turkey cooks within 2 hours (which is fast for a turkey!). These special, free-range birds have a natural diet, giving them a richer flavour than the standard turkey. You can also get your stuffing in store – fingers crossed it involves Bones & Blades’ amazing sausage!

When: Pre-order your bird from September to November by calling 2517 4266, or email [email protected]. There are limited stocks, so first come, first served!

Fresh Turkey from Feather & Bone

Feather & Bone is our pick if you are cooking for a crowd this year. The free-range, whole turkey feeds 8 to 10 people and you can order online for easy delivery!

When: Thanksgiving delivery orders will be taken between Monday, 20 November and Friday, 24 November 2017.

Frozen Turkey from Pacific Gourmet

If you’re a planner and have the freezer space, Pacific Gourmet’s Australian frozen whole turkey will make sure you’re set for a family Thanksgiving at home. If, like us, you can’t spare the freezer space, you can also order the birds defrosted. As an added bonus, it comes with a self-basting marinade so you can spend less time with your face in the oven!
