As parents, we’re constantly looking to keep the kids entertained in a way that enables them to learn, grow and push themselves. After all, the most important thing is that we’re raising our little ones to be the best version of themselves. With a unique set of values embedded deeply into all aspects of the school, Malvern College Hong Kong (MCHK) fits the bill.

This interactive school offers a holistic education, whilst encouraging students to discover the wide variety of activities outside the classroom. From team-building sports, to brain-boggling science, to creative arts, MCHK is all set to hold a series of events for children with all interests. Physically and creatively, well-rounded kids? Check!

These events include Rugby, the Forest School Experience, Coding, and Chess. Read more to find out what each event has in store…

Rugby Experience Day

Rugby provides children with equal opportunities to run with the ball, pass the ball and play defence. Ultimately, it’s a sport of teamwork, teaching littles of all ages about the impact of physical and mental strength, respect, perseverance, and dedication. All life skills worth ingraining nice and early! Closely coinciding with Malvern qualities (namely, resilience, collaboration, and risk-taking), rugby is set to play a big part in Malvern College Hong Kong’s sports curriculum.

When: Saturday, 30 September 2017, from 2:00 to 4:00pm
Where: The Education University of Hong Kong Pak Shek Kok Sports Centre, 55 Yau King Lane, Tai Po Kau, New Territories, Hong Kong
How much: Free – open to children age 5 to 12 years old

Coding Workshop

In partnership with BSD Code & Design Academy, Malvern is holding a taster lesson on coding. Puzzled by the whole thing? We don’t blame you – but coding is considered to be one of the most important skills of the future! MCHK plans on supporting students on this journey in an open and interactive environment.

Forest School

Led by Malvern’s Level 3 FSA-certified Forest School Leader, Yvette Cheevers, MCHK is bringing you the experience of what a Forest School programme is all about. We all know the benefits of outdoor play, so it’s no surprise we want our city kids to get a taste of it. Check it out for yourself!

Partnering with Caissa Hong Kong Chess Club, this workshop is here to give parents a look at how chess can positively contribute to various cognitive and mental abilities, whilst helping with character building and establishing social relationships.
