Limitless Learning At GESS – International School
With rich and extensive experience, Ivan Bukanov came on board GESS with the goal of establishing the best swimming programme among all the international schools in Singapore. He wasted no time in discovering top swim talents among its students and working with them to maximize their potential. In just less than a year, he has led the GESS swim team to sweep several medals at notable events including the “International Feeding Frenzy Swimming Championships” in Bangkok in March 2023, the “53rd Singapore National Age Swimming Championships” in May 2023 and the “German Age Group Swimming Championships” in Berlin.
Plus, Ivan has taken the initiative to open up the school’s swimming programme to the wider swimming community, optimising the use of its unique temperature-regulated Olympic-sized pool.
Looking Beyond The Local Swim-Scape
Ivan’s vision for the children he works with goes well beyond the local swim-scape. He aims to expand the current swim team and increase enrollment in the after-school swim programme. Under his leadership, students feel the freedom to grow their expertise using the latest teaching technologies within the school’s infrastructure. With a robust history of training global champions, Ivan has high aspirations of bringing his students to an international level, thereby paving the way for scholarships at universities in Europe and the USA.
