Sassy Scoop: We Heart apple & pie!

Style & BeautyPost Category - Style & BeautyStyle & Beauty

As the cheesy saying goes: kids grow so fast! But you know what… it’s true. My daughter grew a whopping 3cm just last month alone (much to her pediatrician’s amazement), and it seems that every time I turn around she’s outgrown something (thankfully, “cropped” leggings are totally in with the 3 year old set). But did you know that your child’s feet can grow up to two millimeters a month: that’s three shoe sizes a year! And while loads of new kids clothing chains seem to be popping up these days (yippee), when it comes to shoes shopping options, HK still leaves a lot to be desired. Until recently, that is.

One of our latest loves here at Sassy Mama is apple & pie, a relatively new shoe store devoted to fab footwear for the kiddos.  Opened only in September by some seriously sassy mamas who were fed up with the limited selection of ‘eh’ children’s shoes, they’re already scoring big time points with parents for offering high quality shoes that are as good for little feet as they are easy on the eyes.

Their sweet store in Aberdeen’s new retail mecca, One Island South, offers a surprisingly stress-free setting for tackling the always-challenging family shoe-shopping operation, and their selection of super top-quality European brands (including Bisgaard, Daumling, Lea Lelo, Primigi and Richter, among others) ranging from size EU19-39 and up to size 42 for school shoes is a most welcome sight amid the usually drab options at most stores.

Here’s a look at some of the shoes we’re loving:

But it’s not all about looks, peopleUh-uh. While we’re the first to say, cuteness usually counts, when it comes to kids shoes the fit has to be right or it’s all wrong. In fact, most problems adults have with their feet are actually a consequence of shoes that didn’t fit properly during childhood. The folks at apple & pie take this part seriously, so you can expect not just a snazzy pair of kicks for junior, but ones that are actually healthy for his growing feet as well.

Want some more good news? We’re all getting a discount! All month long Sassy Mama readers can score 15% off full priced shoes just by showing either this article or the below flyer on your mobile phone at the apple & pie store (you can also print it out, but we say Save a Tree, mama!).
