- No assembling required.
- The maneuverability is so smooth that you won’t have to worry about steering it through crowds even with only one hand.
Factors to Consider:
- The storage space is limited.

What We Love about the Aprica: Karoon Aqua 629:
- Made from lightweight and strong materials, this stroller is one of the lightest out there.
- In addition to its weight, the one-touch open/close button makes carrying it onto public transport a breeze.
- Its front-facing design is perfect for newborns as it allows you to keep a close eye on them.
- The single handlebar gives you the option to keep one hand free for picking up the phone or carrying other things.
Factors to Consider:
- Because of its weight, it has a tendency to topple backwards if you hang anything at the back.
- The wheels are a bit stiff when the handlebar is reversed – quite stressful if you’re trying not to hit anyone while manoeuvring through crowds.
Weight: ~3.6kg
Appropriate for: 0 – 36 months
Available at: Selected versions available at Aprica store in Sogo (Causeway Bay), and Karoon Aqua 629 available on BabyOnline; priced at $2,367.
What we Love about the Combi Urban Walker Lite:
- The single handlebar can be operated with one hand, featuring a simple one-handed fold that allows the stroller to stand on its own.
- With its extended seat and extra soft seat cushion, your baby is sure to love the comfort that this stroller provides.
- Its compact and slim design means that you can manoeuvre it in and out of tight places with ease.
- It has a decent-sized storage basket, which allows you to take stuff out easily even when the seat is fully reclined so you won’t have to wake up the little one.
- The ventilated large canopy has a 90% UV shade rating to protect your baby’s sensitive skin from harmful rays.
Factors to Consider:
- It has a limited colour range as it focuses on functionality rather than aesthetic appeal.
- It is slightly heavier so may be a bit hard to carry on to public transport or up and down flights of stairs.
Weight: ~6.6kg
Appropriate for: Newborn to around 36 months (15kg)
Available at: Various Combi stores around Hong Kong. New Lite version available here; priced at $3,280
What We Love about Bugaboo Bee³: The Urban Stroller:
- Designed specifically for parents who “live life on the fly”.
- Totally customisable with almost any add-on you can possibly want (the cocoon is best for newborns).
- You can also personalise by choosing from a wide variety of colours for each part.
- The single, reversible and height adjustable handlebar pushes just as well whichever way the seat is facing and regardless of the recline.
- By simply registering your product on the official Bugaboo website, you receive a 3 year guarantee.
Factors to Consider:
- It’s designer, so comes with a price tag.
- Despite being advertised as lightweight, it’s one of the heaviest one on this list.
- The folding mechanism takes a while to get used to and it’s not all that convenient as you need to use both hands and bend over quite a bit.
Weight: ~8.7kg
Appropriate for: From birth
Available at: Bumps to Babes, 5/F Peddar Building, 12 Peddar Street, Central; See here for the full list of locations and contact numbers; priced at $6,111 – $7,001 (For the basic frame only).
What We Love about Quinny Yezz Buggy: The Travel Hero:
What We Love about It:
(Sassy Mama Editor, Kat swears by the Quinny Yezz as it makes her life easier while running errands or with her toddler and is the perfect stroller for traveling!)
- Made from high-performance, light-weight materials, this stroller is one of the lightest on our list.
- The quick fold at the click of a button and shoulder strap makes it compact, easy to close and carry around.
- The single handlebar and unique skater wheels make one-handed steering effortless.
- Open structure of the seat made from breathable and water resistant fabrics keeps your toddler comfortable even in the summer heat.
- The height-adjustable harness is useful for growing kids.
Factors to Consider:
- The storage space at the back doesn’t work very well – hard objects may dig into your child’s back if you put too much in.
- There is no recline at all so it may be uncomfortable for smaller infants to sleep in.
Weight: ~5.6kg
Appropriate for: 6 – 36 months
Available at: Bumps to Babes, 5/F Peddar Building, 12 Peddar Street, Central; See here for the full list of locations and contact numbers; priced at $2,790.
What We Love about MacLaren Techno XT:
- As advertised, the stroller is indeed full featured with its unique Infant Safety System and an ergonomic design encompassing all your needs.
- Its compactness and great manoeuvrability is perfect for squeezing into tight spaces; the wheels are great even when going over uneven surfaces.
- The adjustable handlebars are useful for taller parents.
- The canopy is massive ensuring that your child is protected from all the harsh weather elements.
- Its ability to withstand daily wear and tear.
Factors to Consider:
- Unfortunately, there are no MacLaren Baby stores in Hong Kong so the strollers do not come with the normal warranty.
- You can only fit a medium-sized diaper bag in the storage basket as it is a bit smaller compared to the others.
- It may be too heavy for petite mamas.
Weight: ~6.9kg
Appropriate for: From Birth
Available at: Bumps to Babes, 5/F Peddar Building, 12 Peddar Street, Central; priced at $3,750; Delivery charges are listed here.
What we love about the Pop Lightweight Stroller by Silver Cross:
- Designed for parents who always have their hands full!
- The stroller can be opened, closed and held all in one hand
- The fully extendable hood with UPF 50+ lining is perfect to shield little eyes from the sun
- Your toddler will be able to lie flat as the seat reclines all the way with calf support
- Taller seat back allows you to use the stroller as your little one grows
- A roomy and mesh basket below gives you space to store small items
Factors to Consider:
- The handles are not adjustable (making them low for some) so depending on your height, it may factor into comfortability
- Although the basket is roomy for a compact stroller it’s a little finicky to access when a child is sitting in the seat
Weight: ~8.3kg
Appropriate for: From birth to 25kg
Available at: Silver Cross
